Alloys weighing and dosing
KÜTTNER supplies systems for alloying in electric furnaces and ladles. A PLC controls the completely automated process.
The separate weighing of all alloying agents ensures the most accurate and therefore most economical analysis. The required temperature is reached with regard to temperature-time behaviour of the ladle via automated addition of weighed scrap.
Temperature and oxygen measurements as well as sampling is conducted automatically employing lances.

Converter with bottom blowing technology

Converter with bottom blowing technology

Combined bottom blowing at the converter (TBM)
TBM-technology improves steel qualities and reduces cost. During the Oxygen injection process, Argon or Nitrogen are injected into the bottom of the converter with the jetting-gas-method. This technology decreases carbon and phosphorous content to a great extent. The TBM system is not affected by slag splashing operation.

Pig iron desulphurisation
Today's high quality steels require an individual treatment of the blast furnace iron with injection technology for ladle desulphurisation.
KÜTTNER supplies systems for separate or combined Lime, Magnesium and/or Calcium Carbide injection for desulphurisation. The co-injection method is automated and materials can be dosed accurately and injected into the molten metal. These systems feature deslagging equipment.

Dynamic blasting process
Close tolerances of the steel qualities require an optimised blowing process. Besides the analysis of the charge materials, data of the on line analysis of the off gas as well as temperature measurements of a sub-lance system are fed into a dynamic blowing model. It has been developed by ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG and is in operation for several  years now. KÜTTNER delivers this system as a licensed reseller.
