Agglomeration and melting of steel mill waste materials
Iron bearing fine dusts, sludges form the gas cleaning systems of blast furnaces and steel mills and oil containing rolling mill sludge are agglomerated with
metallurgical carbon units. The agglomerates are molten in a coke fired shaft furnace producing iron.
At the same time skulls, splash iron, and other metallic wastes from the steel plant as well as pig iron and scrap can be charged.
Charging skulls from the blast furnace iron desulphurisation decreases the sulphur input into the converter. |
