Melting in the foundry
Cupolas with long campaign operation are an economical way of melting in the foundry.
Operation with metal temperatures of up to 1550ºC, high metallurgical flexibility and optimised energy usage through blast heating and oxygen addition are the main characteristics.
KÜTTNER provides a process control system developed for foundries, which optimises operation in regards to quality and cost.
Besides warehousing, material, and recipe organization this system also handles additives and corrective calculations as well as cost monitoring. It is completed by integrated statistical evaluations and an extensive protocol system, which supports record keeping for quality control systems such as ISO 9000 ff.
KÜTTNER supplied cupolas with melt capacities of up to 100 tph. More than 450 cupolas have been built until now.

Casting and sand separation and sand cooling
KÜTTNER offers shake out conveyors and drums, controllable shake out conveyors and hooking systems. Careful casting treatment and use of external exhaust volumes for cooling of the castings are main objectives for an economical approach. Solutions are based on vibration technology as well as hanging track cooling and rotating table coolers.
The separated sand is collected, cooled and recirculated into the green sand system for reuse.

Casting shake out and sand regeneration
In foundries with chemically bonded sands the moulds and castings are separated on stationary shake outs.
The sand, having a temperature of up to 600ºC, is buffered, crushed and pneumatically conveyed in an Airlift, which achieves an intense cleaning of the sand particles.
With fine sieve application, Fe-separation, cooling and sifting a superior sand regeneration quality is accomplished.
